Ponsse was born in the forest
Einari Vidgrén founded the Ponsse forest machine plant in 1970. His journey from farmer's son to successful businessman and industrial leader is a success story without equal.
Before manufacturing forest machines, Einari was a forest worker. But he was not satisfied with the forest tractors available at the time, and so he decided to build his own machine. That forwarder was christened Ponsse. It proved to be so rugged and efficient that Einari took a risk and established a machine shop, which later rose to become a major player in the forest machine sector, both nationally and internationally.
